Tyler, the Creator’s Golf Wang crosses the pond
Rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator, originally Tyler Okonma, is constantly on the go. Throughout his music career, Okonma has proven himself to be an avid lover of fashion, which is it came as no surprise when Okonma established his own streetwear brand Golf Wang back in 2011.
The vibrant brand has officially made its way across the Atlantic and on October 21 landed in London, making its mark in the heart of the capital in Soho.
With the unique blend of streetwear, adventurous designs and a cult-like following, the arrival of Golf Wang in London symbolises a notable moment in the city’s fashion landscape. On Saturday, the doors located on 57-59 Beak St opened to fashion enthusiasts, fans and curious observers alike who were welcomed into a realm of self-expression and a kaleidoscope of joy and artistic passion.
The brand’s aesthetic – defined by its vivid hues, distinctive patterns and a blend of skate culture and high fashion – has finally expanded its global presence outside of its home on Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles.
Much like its eccentric collections, the brand’s London store greeted customers with lively yellow carpets on the rim of the store, alongside neutral toned walls to accurately reflect the brand’s blend between creativity and minimalism.
Following it’s newly released Autumn/Winter 23 collection, Golf Wang’s newest brick-and-mortar showcases a variety of graphic tees, hoodies, trainers and skate accessories that pay tribute to modern streetwear.
