_shift talks: multifaceted fashion careers

An insight into Koura-Rosy Kane's work and world

In 2018, Koura-Rosy Kane started her project Platform – an inclusive space that aims to centre culture and emerging talents and re-shape the narrative of the fashion industry – which has amassed more than 13 000 followers on Instagram. It is a topic dear to her heart.

Kane’s approach to fashion has been multidisciplinary. In university, she studied communication and sociology, but she later found a way to successfully fuse these with her interest and knowledge in fashion. Today, Kane is a researcher, writer and consultant. She is also currently curating a boutique for young and emerging creatives.

In this episode, _shift and Kane discuss her experience and work in fashion, the importance of multifaceted fashion careers and how to create a job that combines all your interests.
