H&M to refurbish Westfield Stratford City store

Revamped shop to open later this year

Swedish retail giant H&M shut the doors at its Westfield Stratford City store in April to undertake a major refurbishment. It is set to reopen in November.

A spokesperson from H&M told Shift: “We currently have a temporary store in place in Stratford whilst we upgrade our existing store.” The pop-up store has been opened on the floor above the main store and will remain open until the renovation works are being completed. Staff members are “excited and can’t wait for the store to be finished”.

On opening, the Westfield Stratford City branch was the largest store in the UK and Ireland and remains one of the brand’s largest global flagships. Spanning over 5,000 square metres of retail space across multiple floors, it stocks all of the brand’s ranges including home and beauty lines.

Westfield located in the heart of Stratford opened in 2011 and is one of the UK’s most popular shopping destinations. The H&M store sits alongside over 250 retailers, including some of the biggest high street names such as Primark, New Look and River Island.

The newly refurbished store is scheduled to reopen in November and will be found on the first floor at Westfield Stratford City.
