Nike launches its first virtual web3 project

Nike launches it's first digital community platform on web3

Sportswear giant, Nike, is launching .Swoosh, a web3 platform that will allow Nike members to learn about, collect and eventually co-create virtual fashion items. The digital project, launching on on November 18, is currently in beta (tech talk for early stages) of development, but registration to join .Swoosh starts this month. Ron Faris, vice presiddent of Nike Virtual Studios, described the project as: “A marketplace of the future with an accessible platform for the web3-curious.”

Nike plans to evolve the platform by cultivating a community that is diverse and equitable through skill-building and working with the communities that they support in their diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Later in 2023, Nike will debut the first digital collection co-created with the .Swoosh community. Following the drop of this first digital collection, Nike has announced that members will be able to enter a community challenge with a desirable prize – the opportunity to co-create a virtual Nike product and earn royalties on that product.

The digital platform can be accessed at welcome.swoosh.nike.
